Civil engineering is a professional engineeringdiscipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings. Civil engineering is the second-oldest engineering discipline after military engineering, and it is defined to distinguish non-military engineering from military engineering. It is traditionally broken into several sub-disciplines includingarchitecture engineering, environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, control engineering, structural engineering, earthquake engineering, transportation engineering, forensic engineering, municipal or urban engineering, water resources engineering, materials engineering, wastewater engineering, offshore engineering, facade engineering, quantity surveying, coastal engineering, construction surveying, and construction engineering. Civil engineering takes place in the public sector from municipal through to national governments, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies.

The Civil Engineering is a broad field of engineering which involves planning, construction maintenance and management of fixed structures or public works as they are related to earth, water or civilization and their processes.
The Civil Engineering deals with construction and maintenance of buildings, bridges, roads, railways, structures, water supply & sewer, Irrigation, power & environment. Students will learn about flood control, Alternate Building materials, Green buildings, structural health monitoring, Transportation engineering etc. It also teaches safety and fire practices in projects.
The Civil Engineering Department of D aims at developing analytical and experimental skills in students to apply in various fields of Civil Engineering using National and International codes. The department also provides an opportunity for students in improving supervision, communication and presentation skills, knowledge of software like Auto CAD, STAAD PRO, Arc GIS and Rivet Architecture. The students have to undergo Industrial Training and visit live projects to gain practical knowledge and understanding of field constraints.
The Civil Department has well qualified teaching faculties with industrial experience who are enthusiastic in imparting the quality teaching to the students. The emphasis is laid on proper understanding of the fundamentals of the subjects through animation, video clips and case studies. It has well equipped laboratories, computational facilities; modern class rooms and provides a good environment for learning. Many senior faculty members are also engaged in research and consultancy projects which benefit the students for active learning.
About the Department
The Department of civil engineering was established in the year 2011. Since its inception, the department has made rapid strides in the field of Civil engineering education.
To provide leadership in the field of construction engineering through B.Tech degree and other programs resulting in quality engineers, educators, surveyors, structural engineers and researchers by adopting a carefully balanced curriculum embedded with innovative practices. The program enables the student to be updated on the latest revolution in technology and equips him/her with the required skills and knowledge to assimilate into the industry at ease. The content deliver is uniquely complemented by extensive practical training.
Laboratories are well equipped with state-of-art, elegantly designed, compact and error free. More Emphasis on usage of open source technologies and instrumentsof excellence is equipped with better accuracy to train students on latest technologies. Research work on live projects from industries.

Admission Details
The minimum requirement for Bachelor's Degree (B.Tech) is pass in PUC / CBSE / ISCE /10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and a minimum of 45% marks aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the following subjects: Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Electronics and English as a compulsory subject.
