Introduction, Courses Offered& Eligibility Criteria:
Mechanical Engineering Department was established in the year 2001 as part of Doon Valley Institute of Engineering and Technology (DIET) with the intake of 60 seats in B.Tech. Six seats are added through LEET in second year, making a total of sixty six seats. In 2011, Mechanical Engineering Department gets its footstep under Doon Valley College of Engineering (DVCE) with the total intake of 120 seats in B.Tech. Moving forward on the path of providing quality education, Master of Technology gets started with an intake of 24 students in Mechanical Engineering Department fulfilling its promise of providing complete, renowned and best technical education to students in the country. Today, with the total intake of 240 seats in B.Tech. & 24 seats in M. Tech., Mechanical Engineering Department of Doon Valley Group is committed and designed to meet current industrial requirements with an emphasis on industrial interaction and applied engineering.
B.Tech:
Should be pass in 10+2 examination from recognized Board / University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of the following subjects: (a) Chemistry (b) Bio Technology (c) Computer Science (d) Biology OR Have passed Diploma Course in Engineering / Technology of three years duration or more from State Board of Technical Education, Haryana or its equivalent Diploma Examination for direct admission in B. Tech. (2nd year).

Our vision is to be recognized as an innovative and leading Mechanical Engineering Department in Haryana and beyond. Our goal is to provide students with a balance of intellectual and practical experiences that enable them to serve a variety of societal needs. We produce graduates to become future leaders for industry, academia, government and society in the whole world, whose vision is founded upon fundamental knowledge, creative and analytical skills, local/regional perspective and ethics. Through a nice blend of course work and projects, the department endows students with the ability to apply knowledge of science, mathematics and engineering to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, provide leadership and technical expertise, and practice engineering with ethical approaches and concern for society and environment.
This website is intended to introduce DIET's Mechanical Engineering Department and provide information about degree plans, faculty, laboratories and facilities, and the profile of the faculty members. The faculty members are well qualified and experienced. The faculty of the Department covers a wide range of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering areas such as: Applied Mechanics & Design, Dynamics & Control, Thermo-Fluids & Processes, Materials & Manufacturing, Production Planning & Control and Automation etc.

Academic Initiatives:

  • A technical session on CAD software i.e. AUTOCAD & SOLIDWORKS was organized by ATS CADD CORE Pvt. Ltd. Kurukshetra on for the students of B Tech (3rd&final) year students on April 05, 2016.
  • A Guest Lecture on 'Intellectual Property Rights' by Er. Amardev Singh, Professor, NITTTR Chandigarh was organized on April 18, 2016 for the faculty members as well as students of the institute.

Research & Publications:

  • Five (05) research papers have been reviewed in the academic session 2015-16 for the International Journals.

Training & Placements:

  • A campus placement drive was conducted by M/S ATS CADD CORE Pvt. Ltd., Kurukshetra for the placement of students of B Tech (Final) year on April 10, 2016. Five students were selected from Mechanical & Civil trades

Event Details:
Technical Fest was organized on April 09, 2016. Students of the department participated with full zeal. The following events were conducted:
