The Doon Valley Institute of Pharmacy and Medicine was established in the year 2004 with B. Pharmacy course and Affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Now the college offers B.Pharmacy courses duly Approved by AICTE, PCI (Pharmacy Council of India) and affiliated to Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak and M.Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology) courses duly Approved by AICTE and Affiliated to Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak The faculty is highly qualified, experienced and updated with the latest knowledge. Pharmacy is a health profession that links the health sciences with the chemical sciences and it is charged with ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical drugs. It is the branch of science which deals with the study of chemistry of drugs, their origin, procedures for drug development, their preparation, dispensing, their effects and eventual use for prevention and treatment of diseases. A Bachelor of Pharmacy (abbreviated as B.Pharma) is an undergraduate academic degree in the field of pharmacy. At Bachelor level there is no specialization. At the masters level (M. Pharma) specialization is available in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology etc.

Apart from this traditional scope of pharmacy practice, it is also related to more modern services like patient care, including clinical services, reviewing medications for safety and efficacy, and providing drug information. Pharmacy as a career option has always been in demand. Those with B. Pharma can work in production section in pharmaceutical companies, product marketing, quality control and research etc.
